Welcome to Viscacha!

We would like to welcome you to Viscacha, a free bulletin board system with an integrated content management system. The intention of the software engineers is to combine the current standards with new and user friendly features. The system supports plugins and components for easily extending the core system. Viscacha uses an database abstraction layer to support as many databases as possible. Currently there is only a layer for the open source database engine MySQL. With this software you can easily set up a complete (personal) homepage. The CMS extends the bulletin board system to have a homepage which is connected to the community.

How to start:
You have to set up this fresh Viscacha installation before you can use it. Visit the Admin Control Panel and configure all things you want. After you have set up this nice peace of software, you have to allow everybody to view the site. Visit the page "Viscacha Settings" and click "Switch Viscacha on or off". Disable the checkbox labelled with the caption "Switch off" and now everybody can see your beautiful new site - powered by Viscacha. Enjoy it!
